Hoffman Beach has shallow water suitable for wading, younger children, and canoes. It's also ideal for paddle boards - bring your own if you have them. Every campsite has its own segment of beach! Shared water mats are available in the centre of the campground.
For deeper water swimming, a section of Bancroft Beach is reserved for renters staying on Hoffman Beach. Since this is about 800 meters from the campground along dusty roads, most guests will likely drive rather than walk from Hoffman Beach. You will see a sign marked Private: Access to Bancroft Beach on your left just before you come to private cottages. Some parking is available along Golden Lyn Way at the trailhead to the beach.
The canoe rack is located past Site #1 and before the volleyball area. It contains 3 canoes which are shared by renters at Hoffman Beach. Life jackets (adults and children 8 and up) and paddles are stored in the Hoffman Supplies Shed. There is no charge for the watercraft; however, renters are responsible for any damage caused by their use. All watercraft are to be returned to the rack and paddles and life jackets returned to the Shed after each use.
Emergency kits are located in each canoe and must remain there.
ne canoe can be borrowed per family for a time slot - morning, afternoon, or evening; that gives each family 2 time slots per week. We'll start out not formally scheduling the canoes but if there are issues, we'll use the Shelter for a sign-out board.
A regulation-sized volleyball court is located at the end of the campground road, past Site #1 and the Canoe Rack, parallel to the beach. The volleyball will be located in the Hoffman Supplies Shed and must be returned to that location.
Tetherball is located in a central shaded location near the well, across from Site #4.
Trails and access to natural areas are part of the Hoffman Beach campground experience. There is a serene wooded area at the top of Lutherlyn Drive to explore or just sit and listen to the birds.
Camp Lutherlyn also borders Renfrew County ATV Trail #90. It is a lovely trail for cyclists and hikers. It is a short walk from the top of Lutherlyn Drive. Head right along Golden Mile Way and watch for the end of the farmer's field on your left (the end of the Camp's property). Just past that you'll see the entrance to the trail.
Check the boards in Evergreen Shelter for pamphlets from nearby touriest attractions for things to do with the family in the greater Bonnechere Valley.
