One Comfort Station is located along Lutherlyn Drive in the centre of the campground - not more than a minute walk to any campsite. It contains 2 private units, one a two-piece unit (toilet and sink) and the other a 3-piece unit (toilet, sink and shower). A second similar Comfort Station will be in place for Summer 2027; it will be located along the Hydro Road between Shepherd's Staff Cabin and Site #8, with a foot path to it from the Campground Road near the Shelter.
Water hook-up is provided at each campsite. The water is from our well which is tested monthly; however, it is designated non-potable water since there is no treatment done to the water. Please bring your own drinking water; if you run short, the Stinson's garage in Golden Lake (corner of Hwy 60 and Kokomis Road) sells the Culligan Water.
Firewood is available for your campsite at a central location along the Hydro Road between Comfort Station #1 and Tether ball. A wheelbarrow is provided to transport it to your site. it goes without saying that the wheelbarrow is to be returned to the central location.
A second location for firewood is located to the right of the Shelter. The primary purpose of that location is for use in the Shelter.
We are currently providing firewood at no cost so please be respectful of that policy. Absolutely no outside firewood is to be brought on site due to potential insect infestation.
Our current shelter is located between Site #4 and Site #5. It will be enlarged and partially enclosed to block the wind and rain in inclement weather; a wood stove will provide some warmth in such weather. The windows in the shelter are ventilating, so it is also lovely in great weather. Materials for this work were donated a number of years ago; read the plaque in the shelter to get the story.
A key use of this space is to create a mini Visitor's Centre to hold pamplets and information on local recreation/ tourist sites tat may be of interest. A few picnic tables are also located here to encourage people from different campsites to get to know each other; it's not meant as a place for one family to entertain.
A septic dump station is located along Lutherlyn Drive beside the comfort station. Water is provided for rinsing any spills while dumping your tank(s) and we have a 15 ft septic hose extender if needed. Most campers will be able to pull off Lutherlyn Drive to dump their tanks and not block the road for other vehicles. Some of the larger camper setups may not be able to pull in and pull out of that road and will have to park along Lutherlyn Drive.
To facilitate emptying your tanks mid-stay - grey water and black water - we provide a portable black water tank for your use. It can be picked up at the septic dump station.
You must use the shared garbage and recycling station. If garbage is left at your campsite you will lose your privilege to rent that or other campsites for the coming year. The Garbage Station is located along Lutherlyn Drive, up the hill several feet from the Comfort Station; this location is chosen to be away from the campsites, to help reduce unappreciated wildlife “guests” visiting campsites. All food garbage must be placed in the animal proof (we hope) garbage cans and securely closed. Please use the recycling bins for all recyclables. Other non-food litter (in tied garbage bags) can be placed at the station.
You are responsible tor keeping your own campsite litter free and all food stowed so that animals cannot get into it. Please see Campground Rules for further details.
