Donation Categories
Our sources of income include: Children's Camp and Family Camp registration fees and Rental Income from a variety of groups who share our values. We use that income and your donations to run our summer camp programs and to properly maintain the camp buildings and equipment. Donations can be directed to the following areas of need:
1. Operations: Donations to this area of need supports all operational areas of the camp, particularly maintenance and upgrade of the camp buildings and equipment. If the Campership fund falls short of what’s needed, then funds directed to Operations can be used for top-up. This will be the default area of need if you do not specify a specific need. Due to the generous support of Camperships (see below), Operations is our current priority request for donations.
2. Camperships (“Send a Child to Camp”): Approximately 15% of our families require financial assistance to send their campers to summer camp. Donations that are directed to Camperships, will directly help a family in need. We have been very fortunate lately to receive some large donations to Campership and a donation from Grace Lutheran in Oakville allowed us to set up an Endowment fund with interest from that fund providing campership support every year. At this point (fall of 2025) our Campership Fund will allow us to fill the needs for the next several years.
3. Legacy: Donations to Legacy have historically been directed to a significant project that is memorable for Camp Lutherlyn. The original Legacy project was to provide new washrooms for the Main Camp; it ran from roughly 2010 to 2021 where the money raised went towards the cost of constructing the new Comfort Station. The next Legacy project that continues to today is for the Hoffman Beach project; we have been fortunate to get funds for Hoffman Beach deveopment to date from grants and donations. This isn't a current area of need but donations here will help the development of campsites at Hoffman Beach.
How to make a donation
There are 4 ways to donate to Camp Lutherlyn – see below. Charitable Donation receipts are issued for all gifts. Camp Lutherlyn issues receipts for options 1 and 2 at year-end. For donation option 3, you will receive a tax receipt from your congregational Treasurer. For option 4, you will receive a donation from Canada Helps.
Donations may be made by:
1. e-transfer from your bank to Lutherlyn.fin@gmail.com. In your message, please specify that it is a Donation and the area of need you wish to support.
2. cheques may be sent to the following address with a note saying it’s a donation and please specify the area of need you wish to support:

3. donations through your Evangelical Lutheran congregation.
4. We are pleased to partner with Canada Helps, a registered charity that brings donors and charitable organizations together online; they support credit card or PayPal payments. Single/Monthly/Quarterly donation options are available.
